Submission of our Online Application is required to be considered for the Academic Coach position.  These positions are virtual and do not require residence in a particular city or state, so there is no need to attempt to apply multiple times. The position is part-time as an independent contractor (1099).  However, all applicants must have a current and valid proper authorization to work within the United States.

(Minimum of a conferred Master’s Degree with at least 18 or more graduate-level credit hours completed in the subject matter area listed below is REQUIRED, no exceptions):

The following documents will be required to complete and submit our online application:

  • Professional Cover Letter (addressed to Human Resources)
  • Resume / Curriculum Vitae (must include complete educational background/all degrees earned with the major/subject area)
  • Unofficial Transcripts for any degrees (as listed on your application and resume) earned and/or in the process

If selected as a candidate, you will be required to complete an Academic Coach Pre-Employment Screening (Virtual Interview) session. Participants can expect to commit 4 to 6 hours to the self-paced screening, accomplished over one week. The screening includes a detailed of the role and expectations of an Academic Coach, an introduction to the learning management systems (LMS), and best practices of online education, FERPA, etc.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degrees and Background in the specific Subject Matter Area.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong technical skills and basic computer proficiency are required.
  • Educational, Professional Development or Training experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with online teaching or learning management platforms preferred.
  • Highly organized, independent worker and problem solver capable of working from home with a flexible schedule.

General Minimum Requirements

General Minimum Education Requirements (may vary depending on the discipline and/or university request, see our Job Posting for specific requirements by area/subject):

  • Undergraduate Level Courses: A minimum of a conferred Master’s Degree with at least 18+ graduate hours in the specific course content area is required. Experience in online education is preferred.
  • Graduate Level Course or greater: A minimum of a conferred Master’s Degree in a related field with at least 18+ graduate-level credit hours completed in the specific course content area is required. A Terminal Degree or actively pursuing a Terminal Degree is strongly preferred and may be required depending on the specific course or program. Experience in online education is preferred.

Please note, the minimum requirements for specific programs and courses are established by our partner universities and are not flexible.
